A three-bladed, dual-axis teetering hub (3T) has been developed and compared to a three-bladed rigid (3R) using computer modeling. Both hubs were fitted hypothetical 5-MW offshore wind turbine mounted on an floating platform. Cyclic analysis showed the 3T significantly reduced impact of shear blades virtually eliminated both turbulence main shaft bearing yaw bearing. Lifetime fatigue studies for two performed rainflow-counting program at various levels shear. Studies significant reductions in cyclic variation provided by resulted lifetime comparison 3R hub.
